Apple Remote for Mac?

Hi everyone.
I'll be having a PowerPoint presentation and I am using using MS Powerpoint 2011 on Retina ML.
I am plannning to buy an Apple Remote but I am not sure if it will work with Powerpoint.


Will it work with powerpoint?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)

Unfortunately, the MacBook Pro with Retina display does not have an infrared receiver, so it will not notice signals from an Apple Remote.


If you were using Apple's Keynote, I could recommend apps that run on an iPhone or iPad to control a presentation over wifi. There are a number of such apps in the App Store for PowerPoint, but I have not tried any of them (or done much more than a cursory search in response to your question), so I cannot recommend a specific app. If your phone is not an iPhone, you should check the appropriate app source(s) for that type of phone.
