Q: How do I locate my stolen iPad Serial Number??

My iPad was stolen in Odessa, Ukraine - the local police asked for the serial number which I did not have. I have the original receipt at home with a hand written number on it and I am unsure if this is the actual serial number of the iPad. I know there is a facility, by using my Apple ID to retrieve this but am unable to find how? Please help?

If you have a backup of the iPad on your computer's iTunes then in iTunes you can go into Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences if you are using a Mac), and on the Devices tab hover your mouse pointer over the backup's name : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4061

Or if it was registered to your iTunes account then you can try logging into your support profile and see if it shows there : https://supportprofile.apple.com/
