How can I remove a "jailbreak" from my iPhone?

I bought a used 4S 32GB locally to upgrade from my 16GB iPhone 4 and the problem I am having is that it is "jailbroken" and has "Cydia" on it.

I don't want this and want to make it completely stock again. I can't delete it directly from the phone. I wanted to know that if I connect it to my computer and used restore in iTunes, will it go back to normal? can it mess up anything on the phone? what should I do?

You can try putting the iPhone into DFU mode and see if that will let you restore and remove the jailbreak:

Some jailbreaks cannot be removed and in some cases will permanently disable your iPhone. If that happens to you, then you will have to buy a new iPhone; Apple will provide no support, warranty or out-of-warranty, for a jailbroken device.

I would instead suggest that you return the iPhone, get your money back, and purchase an iPhone from an authorized reseller, unlocked if that's what you wish to have.

You're on your own from here. We can provide no further help with a jailbroken iPhone in these forums.

Good luck.
