Q: Latest QT does not consider M4V as movie anymore?

I used to watch iTunes TV shows (paid or free) with Quicktime, because the player in iTunes is playing 1080p material very choppy, while Quicktime can do quite nicely.

After a recent update, when go to iTunes folder where the TV shows are, with the file filter by default being set to "Movies", it does not show any file.

Before, it showed . At least it plays the file when I set the filter to "All".

Is this a new bug?

You can try Video Converter Mac to convert M4V to MP4 for easy playback on QuickTime. Even 1080P M4V videos, this Video Converter Mac can handle them.

Andy, a M4V is a MP4. M4V are those files you purchase and download in iTunes. I used to play them with QT, because the iTunes player is even worse than QT and can not show it in full screen on the 2nd monitor like QT does. Last, but not least, the former version of QT considered M4V as movie.

Totally off the topic. I wrote that QT does not consider M4V as movie anymore. Former version did. Just wanted to let the people know in case they wonder too.
