Canon 6D files choppy once imported into iMovie 11?

Hello- I am having trouble with video playback once imported into iMovie 11. Canon 6D compressed 1080 files, playback in Event and Project is choppy, audio is OK. iMac i5 with 8GB, plenty of HD space. Files will play off the 6D via HMDI on the TV smoothly. Raw files will also play OK in Quicktime once on the computer. Tried unchecking the "Optimize" checkbox but no change. Also tried the 960 setting, same issue.

Hi Matt

How did You do the Import ?

Direct from Camera ?

or via iPhoto and in Event window (in iMovie) from iPhoto Movies (one of the top titles).

• Is Your material recorded in p50, p60

or in i50, i60

Bengt-

Thanks for your reply. I first copy the files to my HD then import through the Import drop down menu (like the first screenshot). The material is 1920x1080 30p IPB format.
