I'd like to introduce my cousin to the apple world giving him as a birthday present an apple wireles keyboard, but he uses windows 8 on his laptop. Does anyone knows if it is compatible ?

It's compatible, but it won't work as expected. The function keys for brightness and volume won't work, as they are designed to work with Macs.
Another possibility you have is to download the Boot Camp support software from the Apple website, decompress it, look for the Wireless Keyboard driver and install it. However, this shouldn't be needed because you shouldn't have any different problem than the function keys
Do you know if the Apple wireless keyboard work on windows 8??
