I tried to follow reset instructions but system does not have "terminal" as selection. All it has is: Restore from Time Machine, Reinstall OS X, Get online help, Disk Utility.. and its not under that either! Plz help

You have to click the "Utilities" menu in the menu bar and select
"Terminal" from the dropdown.
