External sound on Mac Display

If have a new Mac Display thunderbolt and a Macbook Pro. I want to leave my speakers plugged into the display 24x7, even when I remove the laptop. There is no RCA socket on the back of the display, but my external speakers have RCA plugs. Can I convert the RCA to USB somehow?
