Nov 18, 2013 4:52 AM in response to wordybobby LowLuster,I'd contact the store and request either a larger drive be installed or another system to be issued as the wait is unacceptible.

I'm now on day 11 of my MBA being at the Apple Store awaiting SSD replacement, and am finding the wait more and more unacceptable every day.

Nov 18, 2013 11:03 AM in response to ksatterwhiteby flo-,Guess what.
I just got an email from my Apple Service Provider telling me that the part finally arrived today and I can pick my MBA up tomorrow, after 27 days of waiting.

Nov 18, 2013 11:52 AM in response to ksatterwhiteby M-SERG,I bought MBA on eBay in the USA. SSD died in Russia. The guarantee ended in June 2013.
I brought my broken macbook to Apple Authorized Service.
I hoped that to me will replace SSD according to the Replacement program, but I was mistaken.
They refuse to repair MBA without the receipt on sale.
I in despair.
Where to find the receipt?
Passed more than a year...

Nov 18, 2013 11:58 AM in response to M-SERGby LowLuster,If you bought a new unit on eBay then eBay sent you a receipt by email of the purchase. If you paid by credit card you also have the CC statement that lists that purchase. Contact your CC company for a detailed receipt.

Nov 18, 2013 12:00 PM in response to M-SERGby imtootired,Try a different Apple store. In the US it doesn't matter who bought it, as long as it exhibits ssd failure on Apple's part then its warranted for 3 years even after the original 1 year warranty.
Day 10 and counting..

Nov 18, 2013 12:15 PM in response to M-SERGby YuriJJ,It is Replacement Program, not warranty case!
No receipt needed!
Я тоже общался с Российской поддержкой по этому поводу. Только у меня ситуация еще хуже, я в Казахстане. Нет оф.сервиса у нас! По поводу чека мне ответили, что не имеют права отказать без него!

Nov 18, 2013 12:18 PM in response to LowLusterby M-SERG,Thanks for fast reply.
MBA was bought not the new.
I called to Apple. They told that for this unfortunate country (russia), it is necessary to keep all checks, and only then I can recieve service.
Still they told that it is possible to find this receipt if to find Apple Store where this Macbook (1,5 years ago) originally was sold.
Help to execute this quest.
It can be possible to find this Apple Store through Serial Number? (C02HL4ZNDRVC)

Nov 18, 2013 12:23 PM in response to YuriJJby M-SERG,

Nov 19, 2013 1:39 PM in response to M-SERGby M-SERG,Quest continuation.
I want to replace SSD, but the receipt on sale is necessary to me. MBA was sold 1,5 years ago. Wires remained only.
I try to restore the receipt.
I could find out that macbook was sold in Albuquerque in the summer of 2012. I called to apple and asked to tell me an e-mail from Apple Store in Albuquerque.
They couldn't make it.
But tried.
Half an hour we together looked for in google information about shop in Albuquerque. But couldn't find.
Somebody, knows as to write an e-mail to Apple Store?

Nov 22, 2013 2:06 AM in response to ksatterwhiteby Honz4,Hello everyone,
I want to give you update about my MBA and SSD. After 3 weeks I have received my MBA back yesterday with new SSD disk. Everything was running ok so I hope this disk is going to be in my MBA for a significantly longer time than the original.
Apple is still probably short of the 128MB version so I have been given 256GB version. Still 3 weeks without my MBA were very long.
I hope everyone else gets their MBA's back within a few days and this problem will be over.
Not very good for apple though and will take them years to get their reputation back (if this will ever happen).

Nov 22, 2013 3:16 PM in response to ksatterwhiteby snazawa,Looks like they are starting to move these repairs on time. I sent mine in yesterday, it was received today and apparently it's already been fixed. Not sure if they put in a 128 or 256GB drive.

Nov 23, 2013 2:49 AM in response to ksatterwhiteby MPN3,Hi Folks,
I got my Mac book air repaired it took 20 days in total in Belgium. I got a 256 SSD drive instead of the 128. to check you ssd size go to the apple Icon (on the top left corner) ---> About this mac---> Click more info--->Click storage
You get your same old OS. Had to upgrade to mavericks, needless to say all your files would have been lost. The new replacement is the same make Toshiba and not Samsung.

Nov 23, 2013 7:17 PM in response to ksatterwhiteby imtootired,Received my repair exactly 2 weeks after (today). I'm not sure if they swapped the drive for a 256gb but on the repair email it states that my ssd is 128gb so I guess not :(
This was at the Glendale galleria in Glendale, California

Thats ok, the Toshiba was never the worry originally anyway, it was the Sandforce controller on the SSD
Toshiba is quality hardware, and a replacement Toshiba is nothing to fret over.
So, you got a 256SSD upgrade? Nice
