Q: so you have to buy storage for each of your devices?

if you have an ipad, iphone, and mac do you have to buy the storage for all 3 devices seperately?

Of course not. You only have to buy iCloud storage once and it will appear in all your devices. You don't have to pay iCloud storage for your three devices separately

Expanding on what mende1 said, the storage is tied to your Apple ID, so as long as you use the same Apple ID on all the devices, the storage will be available to all of them.
