On what Mac or iDevice is this?
And what accounts?
On my I phone. The emails are from apple telling my accounta has been used to download apps in America and canada
It is quite posible that is a phishing email and not actually from Apple. If you are comfotable doing so, post the content (including the header, but without your email address). Might be easier to advise you knwing what we are dealing with.
If you go directly to your account in the iTunes Store (or Mac App Store as applicable) do you see evidence of this? Have you checked your credit card - have any payments been taken from it?
And do the emails look authentic? Even if they do, do not click on any links. If you want to check something, go to the correct URL directly.
That really isn't large enought to read once it is posted, but based on teh from address in the image to the left, I would guess this is not a legitamate email and recommend you ignore it (iTunes store emails typically use @itunes.com). As Roger suggests, check your purchase history on your account to confirm.
When ever I get one of these emails. It won't let me log in to my App Store on my phone. The only way I can get on it is to click the link which I then follow the instructions and it sends me an email the. Reset my password and I can then get on the App Store and purchase
And all the apps they have brought have been free thankfully. But every now and the. I get a pop up asking me to verify my bank details which I ignore
First thing: go into your account in the iTunes Store and remove your credit card. That will at least stop anyone spending your money.
Then you should contact Support. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; select 'All Products and Services' in the first column, 'iTunes' in the second column and then 'iTunes Store' in the third column.
You might want to look into Apple's new Two Step Verification process.
Same situation with me. Hacked every few weeks, a free download against my account. Deleting my CC details is mitigation of further risk but it is not a solution to why and how this is occurring in the first place. When I called Apple they said it was a legitimate email. They saw that it was proven, they saw that downloads had occured, but they declined to do anything about it.
This is very annoying and worrying, I have just had the exact same thing happen and I am EXTREMELY cautious with usernames and passwords across all systems. I run my own dedicated web server with hundreds of hosted sites and all of my passwords are quite complex yet I just received an email about someone downloading a free app as me from china. Sure enough the app appeared on my phone so I know it was legit. What's going on apple? I refuse to believe someone managed to key log or hack my password.
This as happened to me a few times now most recently today! What the **** is going on? I can't remember my security answers either so can't change them. This is getting really annoying now. Sort it out apple!
Yeah, I too get hacked every couple of weeks. Legit apple email too. It is really starting to p**s me off to the point where I may even scrap the iphone. This needs to be sorted out quickly as complex passwords and two step verification is not stoppig this from happening...any sort of reply from apple would be nice!
