Q: iTunes freezes when It start it up on Win XP.

I've had a few worms or pup warnings lately which I seem to have removed but I'm unable to do anything in iTunes as a result. It opens but just freezes & it's driving me nuts. Should I just uninstall it & then reinstall it or is there a better way. I have tried to reinstall iTunes which gives me the repair option but that hasn't worked either. Help appreciated.
