anyone know how to fix my Imac screen?
I'm seeing residual imagery from closed windows embedded in newly opened windows...... almost a watermark look to it. Any suggestions?

the issue you mention is called ghosting the following article tells how to resolve it:
And for some reason when I go to displays menu, the refresh rate is n/a
did you follow the steps in the article i provided? if so it should have helped the image issue and none of the steps are in the display menu. the only thing you can change in there is hte resolution and color options unless you have an external display attached to the mac.
