after iphone replace is it unlocked?

I send my Iphone 4S for repair and they send me another one direct from Apple, is this phone unlocked? The old phone was carrier lock with Telus.

If, and only if, Telus officially unlocked your phone, your replacement should be unlocked.

If the old phone was locked to Telus, and you didn not have it legitimately unlocked by Telus before having it replaced, then the replacement is also locked to Telus.
