Q: iPhoto: I cannot delete photos from photo stream

I cannot delete photos from photo stream. I've printed out the "deletion" process and tried it to no avail.

  • select photo then press delete key= nothing
  • select photo, choose photos>delete from photo stream is grey and cannot be selected
  • etc., etc.

Is there an upgrade one must download each year?

I bought my MacBook Air in 2012

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

    Ok that is it

Did you look at the link I looked up and provided for you?

    Required Software

To delete photos from the Photo Stream (or My Photo Stream) view on all of your devices, you must update each device with the following software:

    • iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5.1 or later
    • Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later, and iPhoto 9.2.2, or Aperture 3.2.3 or later
    • PC with Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and iCloud Control Panel for Windows 2.0 or later (iCloud Control Panel 2.1 required with Windows 8.)
    • Apple TV (2nd generation or later) with Software Update 5.0 or later

Note: You will need to manually delete photos you downloaded to iOS devices using iOS 5.0.1 or earlier after updating to iOS 5.1.

SInce you did not bother to give us the informatono I provided you with the answer but you had to actually read the provided information it to know

??????? I did give you the information you requested, ie iPhoto 11' version 9.2.1 (628), did I miss something here?

I read the information you sent, thank you.

When I access the mac support to download any upgrade I get an error saying there is no download available.

    ??????

Yes you are missing the section on required software

    The required software is

    • Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later, and iPhoto 9.2.2, or Aperture 3.2.3 or later

You have 9.2.1 - therefore you do not have the required software - hence you can not use th efeature to delet from PhotoStream

Not sure what part of that you are having trouble with

9.2.1 does not support the feature to delete photos from PhotoStream

Run Software update and see what it gives you

Download the iPhoto 9.2.3  updater from this link and apply it.  If you want to upgrade to the highest verson for Mt. Lion you could also try this updater: iPhoto 9.3.2
