thanks for the reply
none of the links u give helps solve my problem
i think i can better define the problem
the links u give say that FCPX automatically pauses - this is fine
i understand this and have seen in action
BUT... lets say i am outside of FCPX and try to drag something into it like a movie from finder, that i want to work with, then the application just doesn't respond
this is not just this though. i have trouble moving objects around and rearranging within the app - this ONLY happens when it's busy doing rendering or uploading
does that make any sense?

better now
but still painfully slow to respond to sinple things like duplicating projects
