There have been no virus attacks that affected OS X. There are perhaps a few dozen malware programs out there, though.

It's not worth getting anti-virus, though. Mac AV is generally bloatware and most have less than stellar detection stats. Some are harmful, such as ones that delete important system files.

Just don't visit unsafe websites like sites for pirating content, and you will likely never run into any malware.

Like Kappy said, get ClamXav,.............dont download anything else, such "anti-virus" causes issues (some of them) on Mac, are a bad idea,.... especially Norton or MacKeeper etc.

You can install ClamXav or Sophos if you want. Any Mac OS X antivirus product which actually costs money should be avoided.

NO! If you are really concerned, download either ClamXav or Sophos and run them. Both are free. These are the only two AV applications that are generally accepted by the Apple community.
