MacPro Superdrives Open Inconsistently

I have an early 2008 Mac Pro with 2 superdrives which open inconsistently. I have pulled the tray out to ensure it isn't the doors in the case that are misaligned, etc. I have swapped the two drives in their positions and still find that both of them open inconsistently. Anyone else having this problem?
