Q: How to connect my wireless keyboard to my computer?

I am having trouble connecting my wireless keyboard to my iMac. It has connected lots of times before but it won't connect again. I am connected to bluetooth and my keyboard is turned on, i try to click connect but it won't work. Any way to fix this? Would It help if I dis connect my wired keyboard so the wireless keyboard can connect or it doesnt matter either way? Should I change the batteries or what?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)

It doesn't matter whether the wired keyboard is connected when pairing a Bluetooth keyboard.

Make sure the batteries are fresh.

Your profile indicates your Mac has v10.8.1 installed.

If that is correct, updating your system software may help the Bluetooth problems.

Click Software Update from your Apple () menu top left in your screen or open System Preferences > Software Update > Check Now

Restart your iMac after the updates are installed then follow the instructions here.

I checked the Software Update but no updates.

Any other way to fix this. I think my wireless keyboard is connected but won't type anything.
