FCP 7-Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt, Mini-DV to ProRes 422 capture??

I just purchased a Blackmagic Intensity Thunderbolt, and it looks like that since I am working with DV 720x480 that ProRes 422 would be the best codec to capture with.

I am used to capturing DV files in FInal Cut Pro, I have never worked with ProRes 422 before, so here is what I need to know:

1-What do I choose when creating a new Final Cut Pro 7 Project?

2-How does working with ProRes 422 change my workflow?

3-Do I need to do anything different with this codec vs DV?

4-I will be using DVD as my delivery, is there anything else I need to know or do because I will be using ProRes?

5-How does this effect export to Quicktime out of Final Cut Pro 7, will there be any issues with quality?

As I am about to dive directly into a project, your timely reply is greatly appreciated.

Kindest Regards,

Sebastian

If you are working with DV, the best codec to work in is .... DV.

You won't improve the quality - it can't be better than it already is. The only difference will be that you need about 18 GB per hour of storage space for ProRes 422 insead of 13 GB per hour for DV.
