migration assistant won't accept Aperture upgrade code

After using Migration Assistant to transfer my files and programs to my new iMac, Aperture asks for a licence code; I entered the code associated with my Aperture 3 Upgrade pack but Aperture will not accept this and wants the original code for the earlier Aperture which is long gone - how do I get Aperture to work with the more recent upgade code?

Thanks Leonie - I feared this was the case. The original Aperture 2 license and proof of purchase are long gone, as they were years old and thrown out in a house move. It's incredibly frustrating that the Aperture Upgrade code isnt accepted as that required the original Aperture 2 to work when it was installed. Having just bought a new iMac 27" it will be a bitter outcome to be forced to re-buy a software product I already own!!

I'd try to talk to the store that sold you the iMac, if they cannot help you to get a relacement serial number from Apple as a gesture of good willl. After all, you can prove that you own a working Aperture 3 installation on your old mac.

And frankly, with all rumours going wild about a potential Aperture 4 release between September and December I would not want to buy Aperture 3 right now.
