Roland td9 to Roland duo capture ex via audio out left and right but can't get garage band to see /record

I'm trying to record left and right audio out of my td9 into an iPad 4 using garageband and a Roland duo capture ex as the interface and a camera connection kit.

Can't seem to get the garageband to record or even recognise the input,... Do I need to change settings in GB and if so how

iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 6.1.4

I seem to have solved the problem, it seems that as I was trying to record audio I needed to select "Audio Recorder" in garageband NOT the drum recording section. I think that will only work if triggered by MIDI..

Hope this answer may help someone else out..
