Q: how do i get photos from my iphone to my mac

What version of iPhoto and system are you running?  What iOS is on your iPhone? First do your Mac and iPhone meet the requirements for iCloud and Photo Stream?

If your Mac will support Mt. Lion upgrade to it.  It has a lot of benefits.
