iPhoto missing from iCloud

My laptop was stolen a few months ago, but I could still access my photos by signing into the iCloud site and clicking on the iPhoto square. This worked for months, but now, when I am ready to downlod my photos to a new PC, the iPhoto square is missing. Contacts, Notes, find my iPhone still show up. Would the iPhoto option be accessible on a Mac? Or are my photos gone with no warning?
