my ipod 5th gen 30gb wont play music through headphones but will through charging dock

When I connect the Ipod up to a docking station or my computer I can play music fine, but if i plug headphones in the Ipod will not play music. The song shows it is playing and does run through the whole song not sticking on the 00 mark. I have done the R's and that has not fixed the problem. This is not the same problem as others have faced as it is just the headphones that the music will not play through and therefore pressing down on the right corner doesnt fix it. Anyone have a solution
