Q: IMAP Gmail account shows 1000s of emails, is this slowing down Mail?

Hi

 

The Gmail IMAP email accounts show 1000s of emails in mail.

 

Is this clutter that is slowing down performance?  Is this being stored on my hard drive too?

    You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is a couple of years old, less people are likely to look at it. A new post would be much more visible. You can link to this one.

     

    One option is to create a new On My Mac mailbox and copy the e-mails there for storage. You can then delete them from the inbox. Mail/Mailbox/New Mailbox and select On My Mac.
