Where Did my Music Go?

Thanks for the reply. I want to clarify that I downloaded this music from my own cds. I actually could play them! After I tried to transfer the songs into a playlist and put on my iphone the ! appeared. It seems to play games with me. Sometimes I can play it and sometimes I cannot. I have locacted the music through Finder but cannot transfer, the playlist just flashes. I'm thinking I am being punished by the Great and Powerful Apple for not buying music from itunes!
