MacBook applications WILL not start

Every time I try to open an application on my Mac, it tries to load for a few seconds , then in turn sends me a "application quit unexpectedly". This has been going on for weeks and I can't even use my computer. If you see this, I need YOUR help ASAP!! Please help!
