Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Logic Pro X isn't compatible with OS X 10.7.5, so if you want it, you will have to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion and check that your Mac is supported > http://www.apple.com/logic-pro/specs
If you don't want to upgrade, you have to buy Logic Studio. As it's not sold at the Mac App Store, buy it in DVDs at Amazon or eBay > http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-MB795Z-A-Logic-Studio/dp/B002ISDD1K/ref=sr_1_4?ie= UTF8&qid=1375611527&sr=8-4&keywords=logic+pro+9
Not supported by Apple at all but:
ctrl click on Logic.app and choose 'Show Package Contents'
Click on 'Contents' and open Info.plist in text edit.
Search for the two lines:
<key>LSMinimumSystemVersion</key>
<string>10.8.4</string>
Change 10.8.4 to 10.7.5
Close text edit (saving the document). Come out of the package. Logic will now boot and run on 10.7.5 although don't bother reporting any bugs etc as Apple won't support use under 10.7.5.
It won't work. Note that the OP hasn't got Logic Pro X, and that the Mac App Store won't let him/her download Logic Pro X because he/she doesn't meet requirements. Also, piracy is illegal
Yep, see your point. I have bought Logic since version 5. I have multiple setups, various OS boot drives.
I legitimately got this to work on my 10.7.5 drive just as an experiment. I do not advocate piracy but you are allowed to install more than one copy if you have more than one Mac. I like to test things out. Won't work for 10.6.8 though.
I am presuming that the OP comes by Logic X by paying for it.
Our main studio Mac here at the studio is running Logic 9 on 10.6.8 but we have a test Mac Pro that has 10.7.5 and 10.8.4 boot drives because we cannot just move to a new OS or app version in a pro studio. We did this for testing purposes and although we haven't been in Logic X all that much it 'seems' to be working ok under 10.7.5.
That lops off all Macs (well, Mac Pros) that are earlier than early 2008. Mac Pro's that are 2007 are still very capable machines it seems a shame that people are lead to believe their machine to be obsolete when they are far from obsolete.
And..... it does work.
How do you purchase Logic Pro X? Did you have another drive with OS X 10.8? If so, it's normal that your solution works, but in the case of the OP, he/she has to upgrade to Mountain Lion because he/she can't get Logic Pro X, and to apply your solution, he/she needs Logic Pro X installed

Like I said, yes, I see your point.
I have explained our studio setup above. We bought and installed Logic X on our 10.8.4 setup which is one of our test setups. The owner of the studio where I work bought it on day one and a day later asked me if it would work on the 10.7.5 boot drive. It was all experiments.
The OP does not state they don't own or have access to a 10.8.4 machine. They could well have a setup like our, and many other, studios where you cannot afford to run experiments with clients work.
Again, you almost instantly take the accusatory tone of piracy when, in fact, piracy is the furthest thing from my mind. After paying £1000+ for some Logic versions and then adding extras like when Space Designer was a bolt on Logic X is a BARGAIN at £139.
I am presuming, perhaps wrongly, that people are staying on the correct side of the piracy laws.
Thanks Erik.
I'm in same situation, my studio comp is 2008 Mac Pro, ML- not supported. I can confirm, no problems on 1.7.5.
I downloaded Logic at home Mac mini, changed info and it works. You can't get updates for this, with every update you must do it again. I don't think it is illegal, just no support from Apple, probably, cuz they are pushing as to new hardware.
You're welcome. 😀
Thanks Ed.
This is the exact scenario I was envisioning when I posted my 10.7.5 workaround. Legitimate, non-piracy and now you have Logic X, that you legitimately purchased, on a more than capable Mac Pro.
It's really sad when you start to have to think about putting 3 paragraphs of disclaimers in front of a post to not be accused of piracy.
Spose it's the state of the forums and Logic since Apple dropped the (NEVER CRACKED in 6 and a half years) dongle all those years ago. But of course, we still have the dongle don't we? It is the Mac itself. With forced
obsolescence occurring with every major OS Update it is kind of galling to discover that one line in one plist file can help a lot of people out who would otherwise not bought Logic X or shelled out for a new machine.
No offence to Mende1, they are just trying to stop people getting into trouble which is admirable but a few years ago there were no pirates on these forums because it was eff ing impossible to pirate Logic.
Having the same trouble. Trying to download Mavericks in order to get Logic Pro X but it is taking forever. Why?? Help please!?
This little hack no longer works with 10.0.5 anyway. It did in 10.0.4 and before.
