Q: Does do not disturb turn off my app notifications?

I am a volunteer firefighter and get my calls dispatched through an app in iTunes Store called Active911. Do not disturb comes in handy when I'm sleeping as that way only my family and firefighters can call me in case of an emergency. I need the active 911 app to ring and notify me if I have been dispatched to a call. If I turn on do not disturb will I still get my notification from my active911 app so it can wake me up if I'm sleeping? Basically what happens is the active 911 app rings really loud if I get dispatched.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4

You can use the Do Not Disturb setting while your iOS device is locked to silence calls, alerts, and notifications.

I have this same issue too. I would love to be able to specify that either text messages from Dispatch or Active911 (cadpage and the like) could still alert me during the night.

I had not know it would block ALL apps and slept through a night of calls... My Chief was NOT impressed
