this is puzzling: my iTunes stopped updating the address book since I upgraded to iTunes 11.

iCloud is disabled on all devices and the sync option shows up alright in iTunes, but iTunes shows (and syncs)  the status of the address book from before when iTunes 11 was installed. New Groups created, new contacts added don't show up in iTunes. Even Groups that were deleted are still syncing as if nothing had happened. This is partciularly weird because technically iTunes 11 should not be able to find that data anymore - it almost seems as if it created a local copy of the address book when I installed the new version.

Has anyone seen anything similar or do you have an idea of how I can redirect iTunes to use the correct database for the sync?
