Guest network extends too?

When you use an airport express to extend the range of your base station router, does it extend both your main network AND your guest network? I'm using an airport extreme as my base station and an express to extend it.

AirPort Express 802.11n (1st Gen), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Yes........assuming that the AirPort Extreme is configured and working correctly....and also IF:

1) You have the 2nd Gen version of the AirPort Express

2) 3rd Gen or higher version of the AirPort Extreme

3) Both the AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express are using firmware version 7.6.3

4) AirPort Utility 6.3.1 is used to configure the devices

I have 5th gen airport extreme and a the 802.11n (model #A1264). There were 3 different releases of the airport 802.11b/g, 802.11 a/b/g/draft n, 802.11 a/b/g/n simulateous dual-band, and mine is the second one. I think it is still considered 1st generation though cause it's the kind without the powercord.

So does this mean I need to buy a second generation to have the guest network extended too?

Thanks for your help.
