I'm trying to buy an album from the iTunes store but is not deducting the price from my redeemed card balance, why?
I redeemed a card in my account but when trying to shop is not giving me the option to use it. Any suggestions?

You dont really have to tell the iTunes Store to use the credit balance. Here is how purchases are charged in iTunes.
Order of iTunes billing methods
When making purchases, content credits are used first, followed by Gift Certificate, iTunes Card, or Allowance Account credits; your credit card or PayPal account is then charged for any remaining balance.
