Do you have the Restriction set in Settings>General>Restrictions that prevents changing accounts?
When you select the account on the left-hand side of the Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars screen there should be a Delete Account button at the bottom of the popup that you get. If the accounts are greyed out on the Settings screen then have you got Settings > General > Restrictions > Accounts set to Don't Allow Changes ?
No, restrictions are set to OFF
No. No option to delete unfortunaltely. And in General ther Restrictions are set to OFF.
In settings/general/restrictions/accounts do you have allow changes ticked?
Would love to have some help to get rid of this account :)
Yes. Allow Changes is checked.
That is what people are trying to do here. Help you that is.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You will lose no data, apps, content, photos , etc, but all settings will have to be re-entered.
If you are using restrictions at all - turn them off completely, restart your iPad and then try again.
Just had one other thought. Is this a demo iPad or a work iPad?

The account is grated out though in settings/mail
Demo thanks. It tried resetting with no luck.
One thought though is that the account I'm trying to remove is a work email account that I installed on my iPad. I deleted all of the mobile iron app, but it still appears grayed out. It looks like there are still remnants from it.
Is the Add Account button also greyed out in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars or is it active ? If it's a work email account then the account administrator may have applied some sort of profile to the account that is stopping it from being removed.
Just to let you know I figured out that I had to delete Profiles that were in Settings that were present. These were installed via a work program m
After that, the. Email account disappeared. Success!!,
Hey Steve--how were you able to remove the account?
