4S on Orange ... no service/searching

For the last few days, my iPhone 4S has lost signal for a few hours whenever it has been switched off and on again. It usually comes back on its own, but I lost signal the night before last and it still hasn't returned. I rang Orange and they didn't seem to have a clue how to sort it 😟 Help!

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1.3

Then your phone is not connecting to their network at all. Could be hardware...

Try these steps, if you haven't already:

Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

Reset the device. (Same article as above.)

Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)

Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137

For the last one, do not redownload ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.

If after the last step, you are STILL having an issue, and you KNOW that you are in range of a cell tower on your network, it's likely a hardware issue.
