How can I stop sound feedback during a Skype video call

I regularly Skype Canada each week and am experiencing sound feedback during the video calls using Skype. We cannot use FaceTime as my daughter does not have access to this app. Any advice would be appreciated.

Roger,

i have just moved from old iPad Air to new 12.9 iPad Pro. Skype worked very well on the old tablet. On the pro, it Has unbearable (for the person on the other end) feedback.

I suspect ect this is a function of there being 4 speakers and one being right next to the microphone. Is there a way to disable to top speakers during Skype calls? And if not how can I get 1this feedback to Skype or apple?

thanks,

scott

Some feedback is inevitable when you are using a speaker as the microphone will pick it up. Skype handles tehis with varying degrees of success by reducing the incoming level while you are talking. Sometimes reconnecting will improve it, but the only way of eliminating it completely is to use headphones. Otherwise just keep the loudspeaker as quiet as you can manage.
