My school purchaced software from apple. They sent me a redemption code #, but I can't find where to enter it. They want a credit card #. Any ideas?

How to redeem a code.
Open the Mac App Store then click Redeem under Quick Links right side of the window.
And if it's the code for an iPad app? My link covers it all.
