Q: Can you send pictures from the ipad to the sd card?
I need to transfer pictures from my ipad to my sd card.

You can't, the camera kit only works one-way, from the card or camera to the iPad
You can copy them from the iPad to your computer, and from there to a card : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 e.g. on a PC you can copy them off via the windows camera wizard, on a Mac you can use Image Capture, iPhoto and Aperture.
