Q: Lightning to SD for iPad not working - Tried everything

A few months back I purchased a Lightning to SD adapter for my 4th generation iPad. Since then I have successfully used it to import photos from my SD card to my iPad.

When I went to go do the same today, I followed the same process as usual:

  • All files are 8 charcaters long w/ no spaces, and the .jpg extension is there
  • All files are under the DCIM folder on my SD card.
  • My lightning adapter works to charge my iPad and connect it to my MacBook, however NOT my SD adapter

Normally when it is connected, the Photos app opens and I can view the photos on my SD card. Despite multiple attempts of rebooting, and double checking all of the requirements to import photos, as well as following Apple's suggestions if the SD card is not initially recognized, the SD card continues to not connect to my iPad.

I have also tried using a different SD card and that still did not work.

UPDATE: I noticed that the iPad does not recognize that the SD card is mounted to the device under Settings > General. Does this mean that my SD card reader is suddenly defective? It doesn't make sense due to the fact I have used it multiple times previously with no issues.

iPad, iOS 6.1.3
