Q: How do I find the serial number for my aperture software?

Bought my aperture software a couple of years ago. Have lost the original box although the library currently works on my macbookpro. Am trying to transfer my library to my new macbook air and am being asked for the original serial number? where can I find it; if I don't have the original box?

Copy the licence number from Aperture's "About" panel on your MacBook Pro.

The licence number should be shown in the panel, when you launch Aperture on your MacBook Pro and go the the main menu bar: Aperture > About Aperture.

Léonie's advice will work if you bought Aperture 3. If you originally bought Apertue 2 and upgraded to Aperture 3 you will still need the Aperture 2 serial number.

If this is the case you will need to contact Apple and see if thet can help. See Pro Application Replacement Serial Numbers
