I would like to delete my old user account, but all of my mp3s originated from this account, and now reside in the shared folder so I can use them from any of my user accounts. If I delete this original user, will it's shared files also be deleted or will they remain in the shared folder? Thanks for your help. -Loren

Hello, by rights, nothing in the Shared folder should be touched, but I strongly advice having a backup of anything important.
And to double check, these files are in the Shared folder, not the shared Public/Drop box folder in that user?
That is very good advice to ensure back ups. The file is in the hard drive, under 'Users', labeled 'Shared'. I keep all my music there so I can access it from any user.
It should be fine then, I tested by creating a new user, moved some files to the Shared folder, deleted that user, & files were still there.
If I delete a user, will the shared files originating from this user also be deleted?
