Hello all,
i as given an old ipod touch by my uncle. i had the chance to use it twice , and now, it says : "ipod is disabled, connect to iunes".
It happened after my little sister (16months) bite the ipod close to "home" button.
When i connect it to itunes, i have to enter the password, but can't as the ipod is disabled.
I can't do anything except see the screen below :
(can't unlock, turn off etc)

as i can't turn off my ipod, i'm gonna wait 1-2 days until there is no more battery and it turn off alone.

You don't have to wait for the battery to die:
1. Hook up the ipod powered on to the PC
2. Now hold home & sleep/wake buttons until the phone turns off and keep holding for 10 seconds. If the phone ever turns on during this phase,start over and hold for less time.
3. Now release power and continue holding home until the PC recognizes the phone.
as you can see on my picture, my ipod is locked u_u
so can't do nothing
I understand. You can wait for the battery to die if you want but if you follow my instructions you can do it now.
What I am trying to say is your ipod doesn't need to be off

yes i know, but i have tried 4 times the second steps, waited for at least 2minutes, but nothing happened.
do you know how long it take for the ipod to turn off ?
If you hold the Home button and the sleep/wake buttons at the same time without letting go the screen will go black and if you continue to hold them the Apple logo will appear. This is called a reset. Step 2 is the same theory but you let go of the sleep/wake button after the screen goes blank but keep holding the Home button.
how do you fix it ?
I have done this, but now it is saying connect to iTunes (with the USB end with an arrow pointing to iTunes). However, I have connected it to my PC and it is not doing anything!!! 😟 what do I do now???
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
I tried the DFU mode, but that didn't work... at all 😟
