Apple TV protocol/ports used for updates

We have a few Apple TVs that fail updating. It's with our backend network because when I change to a different wireless network, it updates fine. What I'm trying to find is what protocols and ports are used for the update process so I can have our network folks check these to ensure they aren't blocked. And, if they have to open something up to a specific site, what should they be pointing to (Apple Resource for the update - IP, URL etc).

I have found Apples support info as what ports etc are used on the network but this is for using the device only, not updating the device.

Make sure your router/computer allows access over the following ports

Refer to your router manual/manufacturer for any settings that are specific to that model.

Thanks Winston. I'm also looking for maybe SMB or some type of file transport protocol but don't see it in the list. We are open or fine with each of these listed. What seems to happen is it "appears" to download but when it tries to do the update, it fails. Note that when we do this on a wide open wirless network, it works everytime.

You don't need anything else to perform an update. Have you considered that it may well be other settings or interference on the network rather than a closed port.

Yes we have. In fact, we can do iPhone iOS updates on this same wireless network without issues. That's what makes it so weird.
