how do i search apps by ios version

I have an iphone 3g and have discovered that most of the apps don't work on 4.2.1. How can I search the app store for just those that will work for me?

Here's my favorite app search tool:

iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.

And here are some things other people have suggested:

Vintapps 3.1.3 - paid app.

Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.

Discussion post by msgarmar - technique to sort apps by date.

Unless you can figure out how to word an internet search you most likely can't do that as the iTunes App Store doesn't have that type of specific search capabilities.
