Q: Old populated contacts using Exchange and Mac Mail
Hi,
We are moving from PCs to Macs around here and I have run into some issues over the past couple months. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions.
1. Mac Users who used Distribution Lists in Outlook have old information populating in Mail.app
Here is what I have found so far:
1. When they log into a PC and use outlook 2010 to create a message the lists are correct (assuming those lists were edited and updated on a PC away from the Mac).
2. When All previous recipients (>Window>Previous Recipients) in Mail.app are deleted the issue still arises (even after restart).
3. When Exchange is removed from Contacts in System Preferences the Groups are nolonger available to Mail.app
3b. When Exchange is re-added the old, out of date, lists reappear.
4. If I look in Contacts.app the groups are not visible
5. If I remove exchange from System Preferences, join the computer to the domain as a contact-only connection, only the items I would expect are there. The groups in question are not visible (the lists were not created or maintained on the server).
6. If the group is edited on the PC again after all these steps the PC group is up-to-date, the mac is not
6b. If I edit the group on the Mac, it reverts back to the old group (causing a constant need to edit each list with every message sent).
This has been replicated on three macs, all running 10.8.4. They were not imaged systems.
I don't think I am missing anything I have done, but maybe. Do any of you have suggestions to get the latest revisions to all their groups? Or do I need to have them delete all groups on their PCs and recreate them all for their macs?
Thanks a million and a half,
Me
