I just received an email from icloud stating that my free upgrade was going to expire and it would decrease to 5 (when I have been using 10+). What is this??

    It's exactly what it says. The free additional space you were given for being a former MobileMe customer is finally coming to an end.

     

    Normally an iCloud account has 5GB of free storage and if you want more, you pay for it. Apple gave you an extra 20GB for free for over a year. They are just reminding you that that promotion is coming to an end and your account will revert to 5GB unless you pay for extra space.

    The actual amount of extra free storage varies depending on how much storage previous subscribers had.

     

    If you do nothing your storage will dowgrade to 5GB so you should make sure you don't have more content than this.
