installing bootcamp

when i read manual instruction and tried to make a partitioan and installing windows software. i am using my hardisk external. it said that mac os will format the driver, does it mean i will lost all of my hd external drive file?

you have to install Windows on internal drives only


point Boot Camp Assistant there.


It should only shrink and create a 2nd partition, not format.
