I keep getting redirected to a different website.

I keep getting redirected to a different website namely, ww9.mitsubishiconfort.com. The websites I'm visiting are safe www.thecrashblossoms.co.uk and www.atpworldtour.com both redirect me. I use Safari and Firefox and the problem happens on both? I have tried reseting Safari, but to no avail. I have also emptied the Internet plug-in folder and it still happens. I don't have any virus protection on my mac, which might be a problem as well? If someone could please help me that would be great please because it's getting very annoying!

I had a sort of "Geniuos" app d/loaded by mistake and gave me lot of problems similar to yours. I had to click on links always twice before getting where I wanted to. But this in Firefox in which I enabled AdBlock Plus add-on and things got better. Unfortunately:

- sometimes still happens. Can't get Apple's questionary to be done because something like "www.allzillions ecc ecc site" appears.

- I do not use Safari, so I can't tell.

Cheers

Simon

You're not the first to report being redirected to that site recently. I haven't gotten a handle on the cause yet, but you should find a solution here:

It's possible, as pointed out by luxuryliner67, that this is caused by having installed Genieo. If you have, see:

Please read this whole message before doing anything.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.

Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.

Test while in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

I've followed your posts re safari redirecting to other sites. I rebooted in safe mode and the problem didn't happen but when I went back to regular mode it recurred. This is what I've done. Please help and thanks in advance

Syytem Preferences > Network > WiFi or Ethernet > ( Advanced) > DNS ...

... should have either:

• EXACTLY the numbers your ISP gave you.

• a public DNS such as OpenDNS:

  1. 208.67.220.220
  2. 208.67.222.222 I have added these numbers w/o success.

I have deleted items in library>launch agents, caches, saved applications states, ? deamons

used malwarebytes, tried adblock

deleted kulorest, akamaihd.net (reappears)

changed logon web page

firefox not effected

when I log into Yahoo, as soon as I click on the password line I get redirected to

computer support which says
