Can someone that regularly use Automator on macbook help explain the detail use of the app?

Although it is for an older version of Automator, you might find http://www.atpm.com/12.07/automator.shtml useful. I wrote it several years ago about a month after I started using Automator. There have been numerous changes in recent versions but the basics are still very similar.
