kernel panic

I keep having kernel panics, roughly weekly. This is the report from the last one. It's a lot shorter than the previous ones. I'm not a programmer, so have no idea how to read these. I'd be very grateful for any advice.

I'm running a MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mountain Lion, 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 8GB RAM with a 3rd party SSD and it's attached to an old 30 inch LCD Apple HD Cinema display in "clamshell" mode with an old external iSight Camera plugged in.

Thanks!

Many thanks for replying. I was worried that it was somehow incomplete, simpy because all the previous panic reports — about 4 over the past 3 weeks — have been much longer. But that is indeed all that was there before I took a screen shot of it and sent it off to Apple. I could post an earlier longer repor from an earlier panic, but I'm a bit loathe to do so, in case it's just annoying to everybody. Is it okay to paste in a huge long panic report?

Cheers.

Aug 13, 2013 2:22 PM in response to William Lloyd

panic logs are stored in the directory /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports and end with the suffix ".panic". Feel free to post some more logs; the one you posted is incomplete.

Since you have a third party SSD, you might check that your firmware is up to date

Because you are using third party memory, you should also run the Apple hardware testto make sure your memory is performing correctly.

Many thanks guys for all those pointers — I really appreciate it. I just had a panic a few minutes ago. Interestingly, this is the only one of four that I witnessed. The others occurred while I was away from the computer. Anyway, any advice on what this panic report is saying would be gratefully received. Cheers.

Aug 19, 2013 8:46 AM in response to Linc Davis

Thanks very much Linc. I will do that. I must say that in the past, I've had crahses, or rather freezes or hangs, or whatever you call them when it's not a kernel panic, that appeared to happen when Sophos and Time Machine were both running at the same time, so your suggest does make sense. Having done some quick Google research it looks like Sophos, or indeed any anti-virus software, isn't really needed on a Mac anyway. Cheers.

Sep 2, 2013 3:55 AM in response to Linc Davis

Unfortunatley, removing Sophos doesn't seem to have stopped the kernal panics. I just had another one. Any help deciphering the report below is, as always, much appreciated. Thanks.

Reinstall the original memory and see whether there's any improvement. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol.
